Before he was shaping young minds in the classroom, Michael Hamilton was charting courses at sea. A graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander, he holds a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate Unlimited license alongside an MBA from Sam Houston State University — a résumé that reads more like a ship's log than a teacher's file. For the past eight years, Hamilton has brought that same discipline and drive to Klein Cain High School, where he has taught geography and business and coaches the wrestling team. The results speak for themselves: 10 state placements and more than 30 Scholar All-American honors under his guidance. But ask him about it, and he's quicker to talk about the Cain family than his own résumé. Hamilton isn't just passing through — he's in it for the long haul, with his sights set on spending the rest of his career helping students succeed, grow, and one day watching him retire right where he started: Klein Cain.
